New in 2025!
New program offering - 6U Boys League!
Our 6U boys program is an introductory program that gradually introduces young athletes to the basics of body contact within the game, while ensuring safety and proper technique. Designed specifically for boys aged 5-6 who are entering 1st grade in the fall, this program allows players to develop their skills in a controlled, fun, and supportive environment, with an emphasis on learning the fundamentals of both the sport and safe contact play. Younger players who have done an ELA non-contact Kindergarten session may submit a Play Up Request to play on 6U.
In this program, players will wear protective gear, including helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, and mouthguards, to ensure their safety while engaging in light, non-violent contact. The focus is on teaching young athletes how to use their bodies effectively to shield the ball, protect their teammates, and gain possession in a safe manner, all while understanding the importance of playing within the rules and respecting others.
Formation of an Edina Lacrosse 6U team will be dependent on the following:
1. Enough interest from Edina 6U players to form a team - we need about 10 -12 players to make it effective.
2. Enough interest from other associations within the YLM (Youth Lacrosse of Minnesota) league. YLM is still working out details on how the 6U division will run so we do not know how many other associations will have a 6U team.
If you sign up for the 6U League program, but the above conditions are not met, we will roll your players into our Boys 8U House program (details can be found here: https://www.edinalacrosse.com/8uhouse)
10UA Team Option
We will be offering the option to try-out for a 10UA team! "A level" teams tend to be more experienced but anyone can try-out. During registration, you will be asked if you would like to try out for the 10UA team. THIS IS OPTIONAL! Your player does not need to participate in try-outs to be placed on a team. Please note that try-outs will only take place if there is enough interest to form an A team.
12U/14U Evaluation Process has Changed
Instead of a fixed 2 day evaluation, non-parent coaches will evaluate players during April and May practices, providing evaluation and feedback for all players. Our coaches recognize that this is a better way for the players to be placed appropriately. Team placement will be announced by May 18th at the latest.
Pre-Season Clinics in March for 8ULeague, 10U, 12U and 14U
We will be offering pre-season clinics in March. Register early so you can make the March clinics!
Team Managers now get 25% of registration fee back!
We recognize that our season cannot operate effective without the time and effort of our managers. A Team Manager is the team’s communication liaison between the coach and parents, plans tournament needs/communications, ensures game volunteers are assigned and plans in-season and end-of-season fun. To thank you for your hard work, at the end of the season upon fulfillment of your manager duties, you will be reimbursed 25% of your registration fee!

Register early to enjoy last year's program cost and be guaranteed a spot on a team! After February 17th (or March 17th for K and 8U house) program cost will go up and we cannot guarantee a spot on a team!

sponsors needed!
The Edina Lacrosse Association (ELA) is reaching out to local businesses and community members to seek your support as a sponsor for the upcoming season. As a nonprofit organization, ELA relies on generous donations to provide a positive experience for our players and ensure they have the necessary resources to excel both on and off the field.
How You Can Help:
We are seeking sponsorships to fund the purchase of shooter shirts for our players. These shirts are a vital part of their training, helping to promote team unity and a sense of pride in their involvement with Edina Lacrosse.
Sponsor Benefits:
- Your Business Name on the Shirt: As a sponsor, your company’s name or logo will be proudly displayed on the shooter shirts worn by all players, providing exposure to families and fans throughout the season.
- Tax Deductible Contribution: ELA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your sponsorship donation is tax-deductible.
- Community Recognition: Your sponsorship will help make a direct impact on our youth athletes and support the growth of lacrosse in the Edina community.
Join us in supporting our players and building a stronger community through lacrosse. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor or learning more about the opportunities available, please don't hesitate to reach out to John Potter at president@edinalacrosse.com.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
